Rockstars in the making… so not long ago at all – I’m not old and I’ll refuse to believe that…at least until my baby brother starts goin to high school
– where was I… so… not long ago when I went to UCSD I had the lucky privilege of serving as a mentor in some way or form for Frida and Carlo.. For Carlo, I knew that encouraging him to be a part of Kaibigang Pilipino was a huge mission for me – I saw in him leadership, drive, and compassion. And for Frida – she was ‘lucky’ to fall in a long line of a mentor/mentee (Kuya-Ate/Ading) family from which grew several strong and leading Pinays of the UCSD community. Our relations ebbed and flowed, but finally resulted in a friendship that is now entering the same club Vaness and I are in (just like before in KP!)… they are now entering the married peoples club… Thank you two for many years of plain ol’ good times… for serving next to you, for being a friend to play golf with, a mentee to pass on the knowledge – or vent to really, hahaha, or just someone to talk about what we are going through – ‘ATC’ style… Vaness and I are glad to be in the position to be able to serve you two and share photography with you! I’m grateful for the chance… just know that the nervousness or butterflies I’d get whenever I venture out on a photoshoot -though mostly normal – is a bit amplified because I want to give you the best I can, cuz it’s you two! So through the years – the four of us maintained a friendship that often revolved around a respect of mentorship or leadership.. so, at the very beginning of the shoot, prompting them to kiss on command – uh, let’s just say that we all kinda felt super funny, a pinch of awkward, and a whole bunch of laughter! See below. At least we got some great shots/expressions out of it!

Remember out little preview?? Okay – so we didn’t get our shot in one take… but hey – at least running liners between the middle of the street and the sidewalk was a ton of fun (right you two??)..
